The villages with the highest concentration of diamonds also have the highest number of amputees. That keeps the local peasants away from the diamonds - even if those diamonds are found on land owned by a local person, believe me, that local person will NOT be allowed to become a millionaire - most likely their family will have an unexpected meeting with a landmine and/or a local warlord… Soon after the land mines have been spread all over, huge diamond diggers move in, blasting the soil with pressurised water and acid; rivers are re-directed sometimes. The diamonds are airlifted on business jets to Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Hatton Garden and Amsterdam the same day that they are discovered. The gold nuggets get bought for pennies on the ounce from locals who discover them whilst washing clothes. All monoculture plantations in Africa are owned by white people who were forcibly wrenched from the land which was previously pastoral communal land owned by unarmed natives. And that, is what 'COLONIALISM' really is.
